Handcrafted Stoneware Charcuterie Board Workshop

There's something special about serving family and friends on a piece you made with your own hands.

This September, join me for a four-week stoneware workshop where you'll create a one-of-a-kind charcuterie board from start to finish. We'll begin with a simple slab of clay and, over four Sundays, transform it into a beautiful, functional serving piece you'll enjoy for years to come.

Throughout the month you will learn some cool new skills, experiment with color, and learn some tricks on putting together a drool worthy charcuterie board. 

No experience is necessary. I'll guide you through each step, and by the end of the month you'll leave with new friends, and a handmade piece that's completely your own.

Workshop Schedule

Sunday One • Build Your Board

Every great piece starts with a lump of clay.

We'll learn the basics of hand-building as we shape our charcuterie boards from stoneware clay. You'll create an organic form, add gentle movement, sculpt serving wells for dips, olives, nuts, or fruit, and add textures that make your board uniquely yours.

No two boards will ever look alike—that's the beauty of handmade.

Sunday Two • Refine & Personalize

Once your board has had time to firm up, we will add in the detail.

We'll smooth edges, carve designs, sand rough areas, and if you'd like, add underglaze to bring extra color and personality to your piece before its first firing.

This week your board will really begin to take on its own character.

Sunday Three • Glazing Day

Now comes one of my favorite parts!

Choose from a beautiful selection of food-safe glazes or clear coat over the underglazes added last week. Watching the transformation from raw clay to finished stoneware is always a little magical and sometimes surprises.  

Sunday Four • Boards & Bites Celebration

The kiln has worked its magic, and your handcrafted stoneware charcuterie board is finally ready to come home!

But before everyone heads out, let's celebrate all of the beautiful boards we created together. Bring your favorite cheeses, meats, crackers, fruit, dips, or any of your favorite charcuterie goodies, and we'll fill our handmade boards with delicious food and enjoy an afternoon together.

I'm also hoping to convince Becky Garry from Becky Lynn's Bakery to stop by with some of her incredible chocolates and maybe even her amazing sipping chocolate. (No promises... but I'm working on her! 😉)

We'll eat, laugh, admire everyone's finished boards, swap ideas, and celebrate a month of learning, creating, and making something beautiful with our own hands.
